of Backpack Brigade
Every week, more than 120 volunteers donate hundreds of hours of service. They prep and pack our bags, organize our warehouse and deliver bags to over 4,600 kids at 102 schools in the Greater Seattle Area.
Ways You Can Volunteer
Prepping
& Packing
MONDAY–THURSDAY
8:00 AM–11:00 AM
Monday through Thursday, up to 15 volunteers pull food items off the shelf and onto movable racks. Packers take those racks, roll them to a table, and pack 70 bags at a time. Prep, pack, deliver repeat until all kids are fed every weekend.

THURSDAY MORNINGS
8:30 AM TO 11:30 AM
A mighty team of 5 or 6 loads over 600 15LB milk crates with our food bags into volunteers' cars, carefully stuffing trunks with food. Loaders are the Backpack Brigade pit crew.
Delivery
Drivers
THURSDAY MORNINGS
8:30 AM–12:00 PM
(TWO HOURS MAX)
Every Thursday morning, over 50 volunteer drivers deliver our bags to the schools we serve. Our loaders handle all the lifting. You'll open the trunk, get a clipboard with your route, and head out. Every driver starts and ends their route at our warehouse.

Corporate Group Volunteering
Backpack Brigade's corporate volunteer events are an amazing opportunity for your company to get involved and make a difference as a team! We host up to five groups every week from companies big and small to help us reach out ever-growing weekly numbers. We can't do it without our volunteer groups.
We host corporate groups on:

Tuesdays from 12:00PM–2:00PM

Fridays from 10:00AM–12:00PM and 1:00PM–3:00PM
A minimum of 5 people and a max of 20 is required for Corporate Group Volunteering.
