Volunteers are
the heart and soul
of Backpack Brigade
Every week, more than 150 volunteers donate hundreds of hours of service. They prep and pack our bags, organize our warehouse and deliver bags to over 5,300 kids at 107 schools in the Greater Seattle Area.
Ways You Can Volunteer
Prepping
& Packing
MONDAY to THURSDAY
8:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Monday through Thursday, up to 15 volunteers pull food items off the shelf and onto movable racks. Packers take those racks, roll them to a table, and pack 70 bags at a time. Prep, pack, deliver repeat until all kids are fed every weekend.

Drivers
THURSDAY MORNINGS

(TWO HOURS MAX)
Every Thursday morning, over 50 volunteer drivers deliver our bags to the schools we serve. Our loaders handle all the lifting. You'll open the trunk, get a clipboard with your route, and head out. Every driver starts and ends their route at our warehouse.
